Angela Deem and Micheal Ilesanmi hit a snag in their plans to get married midway through season 7 of 90 Day Fiancé when Michael received the results of the K-1 visa interview. Nigerian born Michael revealed that he won’t be able to come to the US after being denied his fiancé visa, but Angela isn’t going to sit around and take it as she promised her fiancé that she will go to a lawyer and find a loophole.

54-year-old Angela and 30-year old Michael have shown their tumulous relationship to audiences on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days on season 2 and season 3. There have been plenty of breakups due to a mountain of trust issues between the two after Micheal admitted to cheating on Angela shortly after they first got together. Now they are trying to put their fights behind them in order to focus on the future. When fans last saw them in season 3 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, Micheal revealed that having a child to carry on his name is more important to him than moving to the US. Angela was trying to convince her daughter that she needs one of her eggs, saying that she can “tote” or carry the baby herself. On this season of 90 Day Fiancé, Angela was preparing for her fiancé’s arrival and even trying on wedding dresses.

Angela expressed to Michael in earlier episodes this season that if he didn’t take the visa process seriously she would leave him, as she expressed that she’s at a point in her life that she can’t keep traveling back and forth to Nigeria for him. Angela has been waiting eagerly for Michael’s call about the results of the K-1 visa interview to see whether he’d be coming to the US or if he’d be denied. He called up Angela on a video call, he read the paper to her and revealed in legal jargon that he has been denied. Angela asked him, “You got denied?” He confirmed. The 53-year-old grandma said that she was in shock and that she “couldn’t really comprehend it.”

Angela pressed him for more information, Michael explained, “I answered the questions they had.” He continued, “That man that I interviewed, maybe he thinks I am lying or something.” Michael began sobbing on the video call, Angela reveals she’s never seen him cry before in their relationship and it touched her heart. She said the visa denial was “painful.” Angela asked Michael, “Why are you upset? Because you think I might leave you?” He replied, “The time we spent. The money we’ve spent.” She comforted him by saying that nothing will keep them apart and that she’s dead-set of “figuring this out.” She continued, “I don’t know what to say, I’m just disgusted. You bet your ss I’m going to find a loophole. I don’t understand this.” She then vowed, “I ain’t gonna sit down for this sht, you can believe that. Because I do pay f*cking taxes and I pay a lot as a single freaking memaw.” She then promised to go straight to a lawyer to talk about their options.

It came as a huge shock to both Michael and Angela as well as all of the fans at home who have been following their journey over the last few years. In the preview for next week’s episode, Angela is seen talking to an immigration lawyer about other options to get Michael to the US, though it seems, either way, it will require much more effort, money, and time.
