Season 4 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days is on its way early 2020 and this season will be making 90 Day Fiancé history. This is the first season to ever feature a same-sex couple, making this the first LGBTQ+ couple of the entire franchise.

Fans have watched as couples have traveled far and wide in order to finally meet the person they believe are their other halves. Though, as fans were quick to point out, all of the couples so far who have been featured on 90 Day Fiancé and its spin-offs have been heterosexual couples. Audiences have made TLC and 90 Day Fiancé producers aware of this and have asked to see more diversity in the couples.

Not only is this Darcey Silva’s fourth consecutive season of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, this season is making 90 Day Fiancé history. Season 4, that premieres in February 2020, will feature the franchise’s very first same-sex couple. TLC released a trailer for the brand new season of seven couples, which includes a 29-year-old woman Stephanie from Yonkers, New York. Stephanie is a social media influencer, who is used to getting messages from her admirers never expected to fall in love with one of her fans. Not only did she fall for one of her followers, but she also fell for someone on the opposite side of the globe. She says in the trailer, “I’m in love with somebody from across the world, and that somebody is a girl.” Watch the full trailer below:

She’s fallen in love with Erika, an Australian photographer, and they have been in an online relationship for over three months. There is a huge issue, however, as Erika has kept her sexual orientation a secret from her family. If that wasn’t stressful enough, there hurdles that they must face don’t stop there. Stephanie has a rare bone marrow disorder. The illness actually requires clearance from her doctors to travel due to taking several medications in order to keep her stable. She hinted at this in the teaser clip, saying, “With my health condition, a common cold could kill me.” This obviously causes her friends and family members to be concerned about her wellbeing as she will be traveling to the other side of the globe to meet the woman she’s been dating online.

As if long-distance relationships weren’t hard enough, it seems this couple has plenty of challenges to face and hurdles to jump over. Fans of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise are happy to see there is some representation of the LGBTQ+ community in the couples. This season is sure to pull out all of the stops when it comes to bringing the drama.
